"The Battle at Lake Changjin (长津湖)" is a 2021 Chinese film directed by Chen Kaige, Tsui Hark and Dante Lam, and stars Wu Jing and Jackson Yee.
The film has been controversial in South Korea, with claims of historical inaccuracy. It is currently the 3rd highest-grossing non-English film of all time.
The movie tells the story of Chinese People's Volunteer soldiers fighting bravely in freezing temperatures in a key campaign at Lake Changjin during the Korean War. In the winter of 1950, in the icy and snowy Changjin Lake area, a bloody battle between the United States and China was about to kick off. Both China and the United States sent the most elite troop to fight-the 9th Chinese People's Volunteer Corps, the 1st US Marine Division, and the 7th Infantry Division.
On October 25, the total box office of the movie exceeded US$830 million, currently ranking third in the box office list of Chinese film history. The total budget is US$200 million.
